In her crib

Shane took this picture of her. I thought she looked so cute hangin' out of her crib. We are having so much fun with her.

Watching a little telly with my daddy

It is the funniest thing...she will just sit there and stare at the T.V. I guess it won't be so funny when she's diagnosed with A.D.D. Oh well...it's a good thing we both work in special ed.

Through her dad's eyes

I had a chance to capture the candid photo while Shane was on the floor playing with his baby girl. It was so sweet. I love the way she's holding her hands. She was just jabbering away. If only she could talk... I wonder what she'd say.

Tummy Time

This girl loves her tummy time! She is such a strong baby. She is able to hold her head and upper trunk up for quite awhile. We have fun playing with her on the floor.

Shane's color

Take this test!

You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

Nikki's color

Take this test!

You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

Hanging out in Washington

Shane and I went to the airport on Thursday for a short vacation. He went one way and I went the other. Shane has a good friend that lives in Cleveland, OH and a bunch of his friend were meeting out there to go to the Detroit Auto Show. He's got this thing with cars. Kendall and I decided to go to Vancouver, WA to visit my sister and her family. She has 3 kids (Camryn - 8, Taylor- 6, and Ryan- almost 2). We are having a great time. Kendall's cousins enjoy taking care of her. They dress her, change her diaper, and even allow her to spit up on them. YUCK! It's cute to watch them. The maternal instinct is totally innate. Earlier, Taylor was dancing with her (video attached). They love her so much! We will return home on Sunday night to resume live as normal.

Baby's First Airplane RIde

As we boarded the plane, it felt as though no one wanted to make eye contact with me for fear that I would sit next to them with a BABY. There was open sitting on the flight therefore, I could sit anywhere. I found my seat and simultaneously a grumpy old man got up, mumbled something under his breathe and moved to the rear of the plane. Fine then! He didn't even have to move... She did so well. She slept the whole time! Do people not remember that they were once a baby too? It's funny to me.

Birth Announcement

I love to play around with Adobe Photoshop. I found an announcement similar to this on tinyprint.com. They have the cutest stuff, but I think they are a bit over priced. So, I recreated the birth announcement and got them printed off for less than $25.00. What a deal!

If anyone wants something similar done, I would love to do it for you! Just ask!

New find...

Cool new website that will convert your blog pages into a book. www.blurb.com Thought I'd pass along this great concept. Check it out!

Steroids?

You would think that we are giving them to Kendall, but we're not...I promise! She had a follow-up appointment with the doctor to check out her funky belly button (AKA umbilical granuloma). They did the routine weigh in and she is a whoppin' 16 1/2 pounds and 25 1/2 inches long. In just 3 weeks she gained 2 pounds and grew an inch and a half. If she continues at this rate she will be ginormous. She starts her diet tomorrow! Just playin'! The doctor says she's extremely healthy and strong. In fact, Kendall almost rolled over off the examination table in front of the pediatrician. We were both amazed! Just this past week, she has rolled over from her tummy to her back twice, but I think it was by accident. She's getting close for sure. Stand by for real video footage of the event.

By the way, the funky belly button has been cured. Apparently, it is fairly common. I personally think is was because her not so smart parents gave her a bath on day 4. Oops!

SPLISH, SPLASH

I WAS TAKING A BATH!
This is the best way to get all of her cracks and crevices cleaned. The bubbles got her attention. She just stared intently at them.
I just love these picture of her!

The night when the lights went out

During the crazy west coast storm, we were out of power from 5am Friday morning and didn't come back on until 12am on Saturday. SPOOKY!!! The wind was fierce and the rain was pouring down. The house temperature was getting way too low for our liken'. It felt like we were camping and we know how much I HATE that. We turned on the stove to heat the house, lit all the candles, and stayed close. It was an adventure. Good times!

HEY!...WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS???
Anybody wanna hear a ghost story?

Her favorite new toy

It's the Playskool Rainforest Jumperoo. She is mesmorized by this cute little monkey. She stares at it and when she hits it, music and animal noises play.

She plays so hard, she gets sleepy.
