Memorial Day Picnic

On Memorial Day, we went on a little hike from upper Bidwell park, in Chico, to another park and had a picnic with the Sorensen family. We all had a great time!

A happy little boy with water

I'm not exactly sure what it is...but this boy loves to play with water. He was having a hay-day outside. It kept him busy for a long time. So...our water bill's a bit high...who cares?

Sand & Water

Another great find on craigslist!
At least that's what I thought until I brought it home and saw what a fat mess it makes! They loved it and that's all that matters...right?

Movie with Daddy

Kendall talks about going to the movie theater all the time. So, her daddy took her one Saturday to see Shrek 3. She loved her little popcorn box, soda, and small candy stick. She loved the movie...until she fell asleep!

Gymnastics

We took off Friday morning to go to a gymnastics class...only to find out that the place where we usually go was closed for the summer. I called another place in Chico and they happened to have an open gym class from 10-noon. Kendall and Kaden had a blast! They had the entire huge gym to run around in. They loved it! It was fun to follow them around.

Bunco!

Once a month, I go to BUNCO with 15 of the 'funniest' women I know. We have a great time! This past month, the hostess, Brenda, decided to make it a 'Thrift Store Prom' themed evening. It was a blast to check out everyone's crazy dresses.
And yes...that would be me with the self-appointed Prom Queen crown and sash!!!

Park Days

Oh Park Days...How I love them!
We try to get together with the people in our ward (church) and go to the park and play every once in a while. Kendall loves to see all her 'friends' and it's a great way to spend the early mornings.

Shane's Birthday

Shane's birthday was a fun-filled day of excitement. He started off the day with breakfast and his birthday present. Kendall and Kaden were very excited to give him his box. And after Shane opened his present, he was too!

The evening was shared with 8 couples from our church. We try to do date nights often as we can. We have been wanting to a date night for a while and May 14th was the earliest date available. When I ran the idea by Shane, he was thrilled.

We began the evening meeting at our house. All the guys rode in the same car and headed to a golf course in Chico and all the girls rode in my car and headed to the nail salon (in the mall) for pedicures!

(Two gals met us at the salon and needed a ride to the restaurant. Just one too many for seat belts, so Lena ended up in the back...poor thing! That's what you get for being skinny!)

Following the initial activities, we all met us at a teppanyaki-style restaurant in the VIP room and enjoyed a yummy dinner.

After all the festivities, we met back at our house for birthday cake.
Kendall was asleep when we got home, but I told her that I would wake her up to sing "Happy Birthday" and eat cake with her daddy. She had a blast!

All in all, Shane said he had a great birthday! It was so much fun hangin out with everyone. I love our little group dates. We have some awesome friends in our area!
Thanks for a good time!
(...and thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for watching our kiddos)
