It was so fun to watch her drink from this IBC bottle. She was concentrating so hard. She thought is was pretty cool...and yummy, of course! Sometime we have to resort to bribes to get her to eat her dinner.

"Hat on the Kaden"
I love Kaden in a hat. He gets an instant smile on his face. He never keeps it on longer that a second (hence the blurry picture). There's a common saying in this house that Daddy started...anytime an object is placed on someone's head, we say "hat on the ____". If it's not an actually hat, Kendall is quick to let us know what it is.

Operation: Potty Training
I had an entire week off in February in which I dedicated it to potty training Kendall. She pretty much did it on her own with a few incentives from mom and dad. She was super excited to wear her Dora and princess panties. She had no problems going #1...she made it every time. However...going #2 was a whole nother story. She required a few extras...i.e., Sleeping Beauty dress and lolipops, sticker charts. Let's just say...she just couldn't get those urges under control.
We made her a little chart...she needed to go #2 in the potty 3 times before she got to wear her dress. We hung the dress in the hallway to the bathroom and she made mention of it everytime she passed by.
She finally made it!
I would be lying if I said it's a 100% done deal, but she's had a few accidents. Good news is...we're trucking along in the right direction. She is so proud of herself. She loves referring to herself as a "big girl". She loves to watch mommy do the pee-pee and poo-poo dance after she's done. She requests a show each time she goes...and mommy goes to town.

Our Little Mermaid
Kendall has been taking private swim lessons and absolutely loves it. She loves to wear her bathing suit everyday and looks forward to going to the pool. She has been doing fairly well. Her teacher is trying to get her use to putting her face under water by touching each cheek to the water. Kendall also loves the water toys she gets to play with in between her kicks.

Two Peas in a Pod
This little boy LOVE LOVE LOVES his pacifier and his milk at bedtime. He will hold his bottle in one hand and his cup in the other and switch them until he falls asleep. He has been doing this for quite some time. I had to snap a photo for memory's sake. He is just too cute...I can't seem to stop giving in to him.

Disney on Ice
Shane bought tickets for the Disney on Ice show and he was so excited to take Kendall. The tickets were on our refrigerator for about a month. Kendall was so excited that she had her very own ticket. The night of the event we all headed down to Sac. We had dinner at the Panda Express, then headed over to the show. Kendall carried her ticket the whole night (including the stub). She also insisted that she wear her pink skirt over top of her outfit.
Apparently, I didn't get the memo that all little girls are suppose to wear a princess dress to the show. I was surprised how many little girls were decked out in the princess attire. So cute.
Kaden was not nearly impressed with the evenings events as Kendall was, but he still enjoyed himself.

Mr. Cheesy
This little boy LOVES string cheese sticks. He also loves to sit in his little bumbo chair that is entirely too small for him. It's pretty funny to watch him get in and out...He gets quite wedged in there.

Sleeping Beauty
Kendall has been getting out of the napping phase. It's not too bad because she goes to bed at 6:30ish at night and sleeps through the night. Some days, she just can't go on any longer and she will crash on the couch around 3ish. I love it when she tucks her hands under her chin. She looks so peaceful.
Notice Kendall's little denim heart jumper...She wears that thing whenever she has the chance. She absolutely loves it. Her great-grandmother gave it to her. She loves to twirl around in circles when she puts it on. She thinks she looks fabulous...and she does!
OOOOOOHHHHHH.....I love that face!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kaden!!!
Kaden was woken up this morning with lots of blue balloons in his room. At first, he wasn't quite sure about what was going on, but after a bit I think he figured out that there was something special about his day.
In the evening, we had some family and friends over for dinner. Kaden dove into his cake after starring at it for awhile. Grandma had to put a little frosting in his mouth so he would go for more. After the cake, Kaden tried out his new rim. He loves putting the ball in to the basket. It is so much fun to watch him. I'm sure we'll be watching him dunk the ball in no time.
Kendall, of course, had to give it a whirl. She loves it too. Ballerina gone basketball player...so cute!
This little boy is 100% boy...through and through! His loves cars, trucks, balls, climbing high on tables and chairs, etc. It is so fun to watch his as he grows and develops. We feel so blessed to have him in our family! He is THE sweetest, huggable, lovable little guy you'll ever meet!

I'm 1!
He was so funny with his cake (as he is with most foods that are placed in front of him). Kendall was helping him eat the other side of the cake while he was eating his side. At the end of this event, we quickly gave him a bath then returned to open presents. Needless to say, he was a little on the blue side. What a fun little baby he is!!!

12 months {Kaden}
At 12 months, Kaden:
- weights 27.8 lbs, 32.5 inches tall
- wears size 6-6.5 shoes
- wears 18-24 mos clothes
- loves to feed himself with a spoon and/or fork
- very particular about what goes in his mouth; will stare at something for awhile then opens his mouth
- has been drinking whole milk for 2 weeks
- loves to dance (bounces up and down)
- loves Mickey Mouse (squeals and laughs every time he sees him)
- kicks a soccer ball all the way down the hallway
- is beginning to climb up on the couch by himself
- only gets his pacifier for naps and bedtime (for another 2 weeks)
- runs likes the house is on fire when the front door opens
