Baby Karsyn Has Arrived

So...the big day has arrived. It all started the same way the other's have (minus Kaden's)...cramping, spotting, and contractions.

I called Emily Sorensen at 10ish that things were starting and to let her know that she should expect a call within the next couple of hours. I called her back at 1:30am and we were off to Paradise Hospital. I also made a call to Karren (the most amazing person in the whole world). She has attended every single one of my births and volunteered to do it a 4th time off the clock. She met us at the hospital and we got set up in a room and I was checked to see how far along I was.

To my excitement, I was 9cm with a bulging bag of water (same as with Keaton). I was excited to get this going. My contractions were super mild and I was walking around with ease. I guess a bulging bag softens your contraction. Hours went by and nothing was happening. I tried everything (i.e. walking, birthing tub, laying, squatting) and nothing was happening.

The midwife popped my water and tried stretching the lip of my cervix and still nothing.

It wasn't until 11:20 am, after a crazy amount of pain and discomfort, Karsyn arrived safe and sound.

I will be forever grateful to the midwife, Lisa, Karren, and Shane for staying by my side the entire time.

Overall, it was a great experience and I'd do it all over again to get another precious little baby...healthy, adorable, and sweet!

Amazing women at work...

My midwife, Lisa, was fabulous! Would you ever see an OB Dr. hold a baby like this...??? This is one of the many reasons why I love midwives!
